The Advanced Strategies workshop delves deeper into the concepts of “1031 Exchange Basics”, exploring in more detail holding requirements, partial exchanges, the concept of ’boot’, LLC’s, Partnerships and Trusts, as well as Reverse and Construction Exchange structures.

In addition, tax principles such as cost basis and gain calculation are discussed. Students will also learn the driving factors motivating 1031 Exchangors as well as strategies for turning tax deferral into tax avoidance.

Guest speaker Jason McMurtry will also discuss replacement property options via the DST (Delaware Statutory Trust).
