November 9, 2017 (Los Angeles) – Last week the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of REALTORS® (BH/GLAAR) joined thousands of REALTOR® Associations from around the country in Chicago for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) annual conference & expo. Of the over 1,100 associations across the nation, only 65 are designated ambassador associations. These associations work to foster stronger relationships with their paired country.

BH/GLAAR was awarded the “Ambassador Association of the Year” by NAR and the Platinum level award for their Global Committee work. BH/GLAAR was recognized for their superior programs at the recent national convention in Chicago, Illinois.

Director for Global Alliances at NAR Joe Schneider stated, “[T]he deep connectivity BH/GLAAR forged with Fédération Nationale de l’immobilier (FNAIM) typically represents the work of decades of relationship-building. We were totally blown away that their partnership has existed for less than 2 years! BH/GLAAR stood out to NAR, in addition to the speed and depth of their French connections was their partnering with FNAIM and their Multiple Listing Service (MLS) to list French properties in LA’s MLS, and vice-versa. Incredibly innovative, we’ve never seen anything like it!”

Global Committee Chair and Le marché international des professionnels de l’immobilier (MIPIM) attendee Sandra Miller was on-hand to accept the awards on BH/GLAAR’s behalf, alongside BH/GLAAR CEO Chip Ahlswede, who was integral in maintaining French relations. Ahlswede established a first-of-its-kind exchange program between nations.

BH/GLAAR President Karen Misraje was elated by the news, “[W]e have spent many years at our association building up our Global Committee and programming. Having obtained the platinum level (the highest level achievable) for our Global Committee for a second straight year, thanks in large part to our committed REALTOR committee volunteers and our CEO, we knew our capacity for global outreach was strong. We couldn’t be happier for this award, and we thank NAR for their recognition of our hard work.”

“As one of the top 25 largest associations in the United States, the 1.2 million member strong REALTOR® community looks to us as a beacon of innovation and cutting-edge work. We aim to exceed our international reputation of success each year” stated CEO Chip Ahlswede.
