Governor Newsom Signs SB 91 Into Law

Governor Newsom recently signed SB 91 into law, providing qualifying housing providers and tenants with up to 80% of unpaid rent accrued since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The rules and framework for distribution of the funds will follow the framework established in the federal stimulus bill. SB 91 also includes an extension of the state eviction moratorium through June 30, 2021, and may prevent other more restrictive moratorium proposals (such as AB 15) from advancing.
