GLAR represents over 11,500 REALTOR® and AFFILIATE Members in the cities of Beverly Hills, Culver City, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. REALTOR® members set themselves apart and above thousands of other real estate licensees who are outside of organized real estate and who do not benefit from the strong positioning of a leadership organization.

The term REALTOR® is a professional trade association designation and symbolizes the distinction between the average real estate licensee and a member of organized real estate. REALTORS® agree to adopt and abide by the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics.

GLAR provides a wide array of benefits and services designed to assist members in pursuing the real estate profession with fairness, integrity and competence. In addition, the GLAR provides legislative advocacy to ensure a favorable climate for the real estate industry.

The association operates by a 3 year plan guiding the association’s efforts, goals, and missions. Each year that plan is reviewed, revised, and updated with the intent on bettering the agents, brokers, members, and real estate industry as a whole. The National Association of REALTORS® implemented a new set of standards for all Associations to live up to – the goal being that REALTORS® across this country should be well represented and receive a baseline of services for their membership.

We at GLAR have not only met but exceeded those Core Standards each year – and have actively been a part of the community helping to shape and evolve those standards for the betterment of ALL REALTORS®.

The Core Standards focus on six (6) core functions of the association –

    1. The NAR Code of Ethics – Promoting and protecting the standards by which REALTORS® subscribe.
    2. Advocacy – Promoting responsible legislation and officials who fight to protect the real estate industry.
    3. Consumer Outreach – Ensuring the public understands the value of REALTORS® in the transaction, and the community
    4. Unification Efforts and Support of the REALTOR® Organization – that Associations are governed, managed, overseen, and protected by competent professionals in their fields (Association management, legal, financial, etc.).
    5. Technology – Promoting the best use of technology as a way to connect and communicate with REALTORS®.
    6. Financial Solvency – Ensuring that member’s money is entrusted to, overseen by, and protected by competent and licensed professionals when it comes to financial management.
