For generations, Greater Los Angeles REALTORS® has brought real estate professionals together around a shared commitment to professionalism, advocacy, and the communities they serve.

Built Alongside Los Angeles

Los Angeles has never stopped evolving. Neither have we. GLAR’s roots stretch back to the earliest years of organized real estate in Los Angeles, when the Los Angeles Realty Board began building a professional community around the standards, responsibilities, and shared interests of those working in real estate.

Our Story Through the Years

TODAY

Building on More Than a Century of Leadership

GLAR continues to serve the Greater Los Angeles real estate community through professional development, advocacy, resources, relationships, and a commitment to the standards that have defined the REALTOR® profession for generations.

THE LEGACY

What Hasn’t Changed

The names and boundaries may have evolved, but GLAR’s purpose has remained remarkably consistent. For more than a century, the association has worked to strengthen professionalism, uphold high ethical standards, advocate for real estate and property ownership, and bring together the people behind one of the country’s most influential real estate markets.

That history is more than something to look back on. It is the foundation for how GLAR continues to serve its members today.
