Bylaws Revisions

The Greater Los Angeles REALTORS® Board of Directors proposed a round of Bylaws revisions designed to support a more modern, transparent, and representative governance structure.

These updates focused primarily on how GLAR’s leadership is identified, evaluated, and selected. In particular, the proposed changes introduced a more structured and collaborative nominating process, expanded the role of the Nominating Committee, and clarifed how candidates for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee are reviewed and approved.

The goal is to create a process that is more open, more accountable, and more reflective of the full membership. Under this model, more voices are included earlier in the process, clearer standards guide decision-making, and leadership selections rely less on individual appointment and more on collective review.

Additional updates clarified how vacancies are filled, how uncontested elections are handled, and how certain leadership roles are selected – all with an emphasis on consistency, transparency, and member representation.
