The Advanced Strategies workshop delves deeper into the concepts of “1031 Exchange Basics”, exploring in more detail:

1. Holding requirements
2. Partial exchanges
3. The concept of ’boot’
4. LLC’s, Partnerships, Trusts, and the same taxpayer requirement
5. Reverse and Construction Exchange structures

In addition, tax principles such as cost basis and gain calculation are discussed. Students will also learn the driving factors motivating 1031 Exchangors as well as strategies for turning tax deferral into tax avoidance.
