Can we do good and do well with green homes

On June 3, the Greater Los Angeles REALTORS® Sustainability Workgroup partnered with USGBC-CA to host a panel discussion on how green homes can serve as a sustainable financial model for the future.

The discussion focused on financing and long-term value goals for property owners, buyers, and community leaders. Panelists explored the many shades of green and discussed why sustainability matters in today’s market, including how green homes can provide a competitive edge, reduce operating costs, and improve overall health.

The program also examined financing for green homes and how buyers can better understand the full cost of ownership. USGBC-CA highlighted its Green Homes California program, which offers property owners resources to assess buildings and plan sustainable upgrades to living spaces.

Attendees were also introduced to the California Building Performance Hub, which gives property owners and industry professionals a place to better understand building performance requirements and decarbonization planning.
