On Thursday, May 22nd, GLAR Commercial & Culver City Region 2 hosted ‘GLAR Night Out: Sony Pictures Twilight Studio Tour & Networking Mixer’, an exciting evening where we learned the history of this iconic studio and went behind the scenes to see the process of making movies, and learn how the motion picture impacts our commercial real estate market and local economy.

We started the event at Backstage Bar & Grill in Culver City for a wonderful networking mixer with some tasty appetizers, and then headed across the street for our private studio tour of the Sony Pictures lot.

The tour went through a private theater to learn the history of the studio and how it became Sony Pictures Studios. It continued through the Studio Museum, which features the Seinfeld living room, memorabilia from movies like Spiderman, Ghostbusters, Short Circuit and many more.

Next was the Jeopardy soundstage, followed by the Foley Sound Effects Studio and then the Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage. At the final stop we got to see several famous vehicles from Ghostbusters, Talladega Nights, and Breaking Bad.
