GLAR is endorsing the following Candidates for the June 2nd Primary Election.
Mike Newhouse
State Senate (24th District)
Mike is a REALTOR® Champion because he has a plan to increase housing production while protecting Costa Hawkins, protecting tenants and housing providers. He will support First Time Homebuyer programs by continuing support for C.A.R.s Dream for All and protecting Proposition 13.
Traci Park
LA City Council District 11
Traci is a REALTOR® Champion fighting on the City Council to protect private property rights, free enterprise, homeownership opportunities and housing production. She has been a steady voice of reason fighting against housing policies that hurt tenants and housing providers. Traci has a strong track record of cleaning up the streets, improving city services to improve the quality of life for all Angelenos and she is running against a candidate who was one of the principal authors of Measure ULA.
Jeff Prang
LA County Assessor
Jeff is a REALTOR® Champion because for the past 12 years, he has delivered for Los Angeles. He’s helped families and small businesses recover from last year’s devastating wildfires, modernized the Assessor’s office to respond to Angelenos’ needs more efficiently, and expanded tax relief for LA families. Jeff will continue to be transparent champion for LA County residents.
Hydee Feldstein Soto
LA City Attorney
Hydee is a REALTOR® Champion because of her transparency in supporting laws that improve the quality of life, protecting the City from frivolous lawsuits and encouraging a stronger collaboration with LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman. Through her leadership, she has shined a light on the misuse of scarce city resources on legal aid programs for tenants and housing providers with very little to show for it. Hydee will continue to be a sensible voice for law and order and she deserves our support.
Important voting reminders:
- Tuesday, June 2 is the final day to vote by mail. If you plan to mail your ballot, please return it as soon as possible. To be counted, ballots must be postmarked by June 2 and received by county elections offices by June 9.
- Voting Centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- There are many Voting Centers available where you can drop off your completed ballot or vote in person. Simply enter your address to find the nearest location.
2026 Candidate & Issue Endorsements
This year is an important election season where many critical races will be taking place with the potential to alter the political landscape and impact your business transactions in our region. Over the last couple of weeks your Government Affairs Committee has been hard at work meeting with and interviewing candidates to endorse in the upcoming June 2nd Primary Election.
These candidates were vetted through a thorough process with our Government Affairs Committee (GAC), Local Candidate Review Committee (LCRC) and Board of Directors (Board). Each endorsed candidate must have submitted a candidate questionnaire and were interviewed by our GAC.
- Our candidate questionnaire starts the process for our GAC members vet the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate after the interview.
- GAC members are polled to get a pulse on who they prefer as the candidate that best fits the pillars of the REALTOR® PARTY in protecting small businesses, increasing housing production, increasing homeownership opportunities and protecting private property rights.
- This poll is then shared by our LCRC where they continue vetting the candidates to look at their political viability and electability. Our LCRC makes a recommendation to our Board to endorse a candidate.
- Our Board makes the final decision for GLAR to officially endorse a candidate
Remember to return your vote-by-mail ballot by mail with prepaid postage postmarked on or before June 2 OR in-person to a secure ballot drop box, voting location, or your county elections office by 8pm on June 2. You may also vote in-person on June 2nd.
Don’t Throw Your Special Vote Away!
If you or your clients own property in the City of Los Angeles, please watch for an important ballot from the City’s Bureau of Street Lighting.
The City is moving forward with a proposal to significantly increase street lighting maintenance fees, with ballots already being mailed to affected property owners as part of the Proposition 218 process. This ballot is separate from any election ballot, and only returned ballots will be counted.
