Santa Monica Mayor Caroline Torosis Joins GLAR for a Conversation on Santa Monica’s Future

On September 18, the GLAR Region 1 – Beaches Advocacy Council welcomed Santa Monica Mayor Caroline Torosis for a Meet & Greet at Santa Monica Place, sponsored by VestaPlus.

The afternoon began with networking, food, and drinks before moving into a fireside conversation with Mayor Torosis, GLAR Regional Advocacy Chair Ian Brink, and Region 1 Chair Jae Wu.

The conversation touched on many of the issues shaping Santa Monica’s future, including the revitalization of the Third Street Promenade, preparations for the 2028 Olympic Games, business investment, homelessness, a potential new version of TORCA, expanding homeownership opportunities, partnerships with the business community, and ways REALTORS® can become more involved in public service.

Mayor Torosis also shared her support for Proposition 37, a C.A.R.-sponsored measure appearing on California’s November ballot.

We sincerely appreciate Mayor Torosis for spending time with our members, sharing her perspective, and engaging in a thoughtful conversation about the future of Santa Monica.
